As a therapist, I hope therapy can be a safe place to land when life feels overwhelming. I believe in a holistic, client-centered, and cognitive-based approach to therapy- one that challenges unhealthy patterns of thoughts and behavior all while honoring that you are the expert of your experience. My work with adolescents and adults include using evidence-based practices, activity based techniques, and cultural humility.
My experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate spans across a multitude of treatment settings, including a 6-12 public school, private practice, shelters, and intensive outpatient programs.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas and my master’s degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. Neuroscience sparked my curiosity about how we make sense of the world, while counseling taught me to stay curious about the person behind that process. My time working with adolescents in a public school made that lesson even more meaningful. It reminded me that no one’s experience can be reduced to a diagnosis or a set of symptoms, and that feeling understood is often where change begins.
I was born and raised in Dallas and love being a part of my local community. I currently work as a school counselor in Dallas while also working with clients at TheraCare North Dallas. Outside of sessions I enjoy catching up with my friends, trying new coffee and matcha spots around town, and playing with my 2 cats, Charlie and Zuko.
